Every day we die from living

Time is audible, hear the clock ticking

 

Life is a choice it is forever optional

To live in a dream world is delusional

 

In youth we may visualize impossible goals

And denial chips away at our fragile souls

 

We may sell ourselves to the highest bidder

When the end is in sight we may become bitter

 

A different way we had always wanted

We ran from a life forever haunted

 

Living today is not a dress rehearsal

The desire to rewrite the past is universal

 

Dreamers envision a life of winning

Losers suffer from a life of whining

 

I will choose a life with a different ending

And spend my days sewing and mending
